Karen Downing was born in New Jersey in 1958.
She gained a degree in Fine Art from Georgetown University, Washington DC.
She came to the UK in 1985 and now lives and works in Suffolk, England.
Her hand thrown porcelain is inspired by her childhood on the Atlantic coast of New Jersey.
